Growing Covid and its surprises

Covid19 is spreading faster than ever in all major cities of Pakistan. Earlier, there were rumors that the deadly elephant virus had been controlled through smart lockdown and other security measures. The government rightly took credit, but experts believe that the wedding was hastily arranged. Due to some of our negligence, Corona has been spreading like wildfire for a few weeks now. The total number of corona virus patients in the country is 346,476 out of which 319,431 have recovered while more than 7,000 have lost their lives. The number of active cases is still over 20,000. The epidemic was at its peak in June, after which the recovery continued from July to September, but the number of cases will gradually increase from October and now in November the situation is once again worrying. The number of active cases in September was about 7,000. It is said that the number of positive patients in big cities has now reached 15%.

Abandoning the lockdown policy, everything was opened. Weddings and other celebrations were restored, schools, colleges and universities reopened, and restaurants flourished. Social gatherings and hugs began to take place with enthusiasm. Citizens who already did not pay much attention to social distance and other security measures became more tigers. The government has been saying on television and radio that the epidemic is not over yet, so take precautionary measures or the epidemic will spread, but there has been no effect on the people. It is feared that Corona's second attack may be even more intriguing than the previous one, but the affluent class would allow Corona's cocoon to stand in the way of their wealth.

There are various rumors circulating about Corona. It is said that by the grace of God, things did not get out of hand, but the way the Corona epidemic is spreading is very worrying. It is a different matter that the majority of our population lives in rural areas, but it is still God's grace that things are not out of control. The rapid spread of the epidemic in the United States and Europe has yet to find a positive solution. However, the recent revelation that Pfizer has developed a vaccine that is claimed to be 90% effective is big news. When will it be available in Pakistan? The government is currently silent. People rightly ask the question that when this vaccine becomes publicly available, we will be reduced to dust, as far as you know.

Commodity prices in the country continue to rise. From time to time, Prime Minister Imran Khan keeps announcing that he is bringing down prices. In particular, the prices of food and daily necessities may not go up, but the prices of daily necessities are governed by the principles of supply and demand, not by the will of the rulers. However, the Prime Minister is also credited with being fully alert and vigilant in this matter. On the other hand, Khan has admitted that the economic team has failed to control inflation but at the same time has issued orders to improve the supply of food items. The Prime Minister also directed the authorities to keep the media informed of the government's efforts to reduce prices. The Prime Minister is also naive because when consumers go round the market, they are shocked that the prices of flour, pulses, rice, sugar, ghee and vegetables are skyrocketing, the stomachs of the people are being filled with childish consolations. Former Prime Minister's right-hand man Jahangir Tareen has offered to provide at least as cheap sugar as possible, but unless an effective strategy is put in place, the market process is not brought under control. There are so many things happening today that were unimaginable. Losing President Trump is constantly issuing orders and saying that I am not a loser, my rival Joe Biden has taken over. Ironically, the loser is using the president's powers instead of the newly elected president. Yesterday, Trump abruptly replaced Secretary of Defense Mark Asper with one of his followers, Christopher Miller. No one has ever seen or heard of this, but everything is possible in the presence of the loser Trump. It could also be that the situation becomes so alarming that the world's only superpower begins to feel internally powerless. Tomorrow, if the United States goes to war, Trump can do anything by misusing his powers. The US system of government has become a joke. Obviously, at some point, the US Constitution will have to be changed by consensus, but so far it does not seem to be happening.
